This is a musical story about a rabbit who loves to run and jump around the woods. His running and jumping are expressed by jumps in the musical line in all parts of the orchestra. The young string player gets the opportunity to work on his staccato bowing, grace notes, and expressive dynamics. The rabbits’ running is expressed through ascending and descending scale patterns, while his jumping is described through his various intervalic jumps in the music.

All Kantata Studios compositions come with full score, Violin I and II, Violin III, Viola, cello, double bass, and piano. The violin III part is a treble written viola part. The piano part can be used for rehearsal or performance or both. The composition is written in the Key of Bb Major; hence all Beginning String Orchestra parts have the Bb Major Scale plus rhythms from the piece available on every part. These are ideal for use as warmup.
